Abstract
Play Is tecognlzed as an Important part ol a chilPs development. In the field of early
lldhooci special education, play Is valuable in assessing a childs level of development
andinprovidhg intervention The present study has been under taken with the objective to
>p gross motor skiils through piety which enhances better participation of chiidren with
‘Mj/lsual Impairment in all functional activities. The sample tor the investigolion included 30
i^kually impaired children in the age group ol 6-11 years. The study was experimental in
T-^no/ure, A checklist was prepared to assess the gross motor skill development among samples.
HfSosedon the assessment a play activity kit was developed and implemented Results reveal
fdhat Intervention programme was found to be effective in the development ol gross motor
’^^sAs. The play activity kit serves as a best tool lor the special educators/resource teachers
