Abstract
Micro insurance refers to the insurance of the low-income
people. It is very different from the other types of the insurance
available in the urban areas and it is a low value product. It requires
different design and different distribution strategies. It also requires
aetive involvement of an intermediate ageney representing the target
community. Micro Insurance touches the low income people by
helping them to cope with the life risks.
