Abstract
The corrosion inhibition efficiency o f the acid extract o f mirabilis jalapa flowers fo r the dissolution o f mild steel in IM HCl was studied at different concentrations o f the extract, various immersion periods and at certain elevated temperatures. Data were fit into Langmuir and Temkin isotherms. Activation energy (Efi, Entropy change (AS), Enthalpy change (AH) and Heat o f adsorption (Q„,tJ were obtained from the Arrhenius plot. Nyquist and Bode plots were obtained to discuss the mode o f inhibition and the inhibition efficiency was calculated from the electrochemical kinetic parameters.
