dc.description.abstractTrianthema decandra (Vellai sharuni in Tamil and Gadabani in Hindi) is a prostrate weed widely distributed in India. Its root is traditionally used in the treatment of hepatitis and asthma and for wound-healing. The antioxidant and antibacterial potential of Trianthema decandra was assessed and the results revealed significant activity in the ethyl acetate and methanolic extracts of roots and leaves of the planten_US
