dc.description.abstractEntrepreneurship is a powerful force for economic growth and job creation; it makes economies more competitive and innovative. Entrepreneurship activities contribute towards the revitalization of the economy of developed countries and act as the engine of economic progress and job creation in developing countries (Zaitol et al., 2007). Currently, entrepreneurship skills are considered as one of key attribute for students if they want to successfully navigate the job market after graduation. Many employers prefer students with entrepreneurship expertise when hiring entry-level positions. They consider these students to be more accountable for their own actions, have team work skills and know how to execute. Students with entrepreneurship experience are also considered to have better communication and sales skills that are necessary to be successful in business today (Gem, 2006). Hence it was found to be essential to assess the entrepreneurial skills among college students. For the present study 500 college going women students were selected, among which 250 students were selected from three different government colleges and 250 students were selected from three private colleges by purposive sampling technique. Interview schedule was used to assess the various types of skills possessed by the selected students. Private\aided college students possessed better entrepreneurial skills when compared to government college students.en_US
