Item Adsorption characteristics of Croton sparsiflorus Leaves extract on corrosion of Mild steel in acidic media(2016) Prithiba, A; ThilagavathiThe inhibition efficiency of leaves extract of Croton sparsiflorus{CSL) on corrosion of mild steel ini M HCI was carried out by mass loss and electrochemical techniques. To understand the nature of the adsorption process, thermodynamic and kinetic parameters were evaluated using temperature studies results, A maximum of 98 % inhibition efficiency was obtained for 0.7% concentration of CSL. Influence of temperature on the corrosion inhibitive nature of CSL was also studied. Thermodynamic parameters demonstrated that the inhibition was due to spontaneous adsorption of inhibitor on the metal surface. The inhibitor was found to follow Langmuir and Temkin adsorption isotherms. Electrochemical studies confirmed that CSL acted as mixed type inhibitor. Surface analytical studies further ascertained the inhibitive nature of the inhibitor.Item Adsorption Kinetics of Cr (V1) on Ecofriendly Adsorbents(1999-04) Prithiba, A; Shyamala, RItem Application of Natural Products as Corrosion Inhibitors in Different Steel and Media(2014) Prithiba, ARapid industrialization has led to the onset of increased utilization of steel in various industries. Their encounter with aqueous corrosive environment in industrial application makes them susceptible to corrosion. This has lead to the search of better and efficient protection methods for the prevention of corrosion. A global phenomenon, corrosion manifests in various forms and the losses due to corrosion are enonnous. Application of inhibitors to prevent corrosion is a widely accepted form of protection as it is one of the easily available methods. In recent years the usage of natural products as corrosion inhibitors is gaining momentum due to environmental considerations. In this direction, the present review highlights the role of phyto-chemical constituents present in the plant extracts on different types of steel in various media.Item Assessment of Croton Sparsiflorus Leaves Extract on Corrosion of Mild Steel in 1M HCl(2014-03) Nandhini, S; Prithiba, AItem Benincasa hispida (Ash gourd) Seed Extract- As Corrosion Inhibitor For Mild Steel In Acid Medium(2013) Prithiba, ASeed extract of Benincasa hispida was evaluated for its corrosion inhibitive effect on mild steel in IM H2SO4 using weight loss and electrochemical measurement techniques. The results reflect that the inhibition efficiency increases with increase of extract concentration. Maximum inhibition efficiency in IM H2SO4 was found to be 94.7% for a period of 6h with 0.5% concentration of the inhibitor. Experimental results were fitted in to Langmuir and Temkin adsorption isotherm to study the process of inhibition. Potentiodynamic polarization results reveal that the seed extract behaved like mixed type inhibitor.Item Biomass Mediated Synthesis of Carbon Dots from Trigonella Foenum GraecumL (stem) and Borassus Flabellifer (fruit pod)(2018-04) Ruthra, N; Prithiba, AItem Corrosion Inhibitive Nature of Allamanda Cathartica Leaves Extract on Mild Steel in Acid Media(2012-04) Vidhya Lakshmi, M; Prithiba, AItem A Descriptive Study of Hydrochar Prepared from Seasame Oilcake and Groundnut Oilcake- an Ecofriendly Approach(2018-04) Elanchimuthu, S; Prithiba, AItem Ecofriendly Synthesis of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles by Telosma Cordata Leaves(2023-05) Ancy, M V; Prithiba, AItem Evaluation of Sesamum indicum leaves & stem as corrosion inhibitors for Mild steel in H2SO4 Medium(2010-04) Nandhini, M; Prithiba, AItem Green Synthesis of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles using Zephyranthes Candida Leaves(2023-05) Dhanuja, K; Prithiba, AItem Inhibition Effect of Croton Sparciflorus Stem on Corrosion of Mild Steel in 1M HCl and 0.5M H2SO4 Medium(2015-03) Maheshwari, S; Prithiba, AItem Inhibition of Mild Steel Corrosion In 0.5m H2so4 by Ziziphus Jujuba Leaves Extract(2011-04) Ananthi, T; Prithiba, AItem Inhibitive Action of Hibiscus Cannabinus Stem Extract on Corrosion of Mild Steel in Acidic Media(2012) Rajalakshmi, R; Prithiba, AThe influence of stem extract of Hibiscus cannabimts on the corrosion of mild steel in 1 M HCl was measured by mass loss method and electrochemical techniques. Results obtained reveal that the stem extract of Hibiscus cannabinus act as an effective inhibitor for mild steel in the examined acidic media. Inhibition efficiency was found to increase with increase in concentration of the inhibitor but decrease with rise in temperature. The inhibitive effect could be attributed to the phytochemical constituents present in the inhibitor. The adsorption characteristics of the inhibitor were approximated by Langmuir adsorption isotherm and Temkin adsorption isotherm. Electrochemical measurements confirm mixed mode of inhibition.Item Inhibitive Effect of Leaf Extract of Durenta Erecta on Mild Steel Corrosion in 1M Hydrochloric and 0.5M Sulphuric Acid Solution(2016-04) Sowmya, B; Prithiba, AItem Investigation of Podrama ricasoliana Leaves Extract as Green Corrosion Inhibitor for Mild Steel in IM HCl(2016) Prithiba, A; Rajalakshmi, RThe inhibition effect of Podranea ricasoliana leaves extract (PRL) on mild steel corrosion in IM HCl has been studied by mass loss and potentiodynamic polarization. The results infer that the inhibition efficiency increased with increase in concentration of the plant extract and corrosion rate increased with increase in temperature. Experimental results were fitted into various adsorption isotherms. Electrochemical impedance results confirmed the inhibitive nature and tafel polarization studies indicated mixed mode of inhibition of the PRL extract. Based on the experimental studies, a possible mechanism was suggested. Surface analytical techniques were carried out using FT-IR and Scanning electron microscope (SEM). The overall result suggested that PRL extract could serve as a effective inhibitor to minimise corrosion..Item Ixora Coccinea as an Eco- Friendly Corrosion Inhibitor for Mild Steel in 1M Hcl & 0.5M H2SO4 Solution(2016-04) Janani, D R; Prithiba, A
