dc.description.abstractParenting is one of the toughest and most fulfilling jobs in the world and one for which you might feel the least prepared and in case of special needs especially parents without sight, is somewhat difficult to cope up toward parenting a child. Good parenting helps to protect children against the development of anxiety, depression, eating disorders and other types of psychological distress. It also promotes the development of intellectual curiosity, motivation to learn and desire to achieve. Blind parents-to-be, like the sighted counterparts, they also have the equal importance in parenting. With the help of the adaptive techniques they can also able to execute the importance of parenting. The present study attempts to know the parenting skill of visually impaired parents towards their sighted children. The sample consists of 15 blind parents from Coimbatore district of Tamilnadu state. Interview schedule was prepared by the investigator to draw out information on Growth and Development, Daily living skills. Discipline, Behaviour Problem and Academics.en_US
