Item Analyses of the methanolic extract of the leaves of Rhinacanthus nasutus(2010) Nirmaladevi, RMedicinal plants are sources of important therapeutic aids for alleviating human ailments. Medicinal herbs are known to contain a variety of antioxidants. Herbal medicine is the use of medicinal plants for the prevention and treatment of diseases, it ranges from traditional and popular medicines of every country to the use of standardized herbal extracts. In tune with this effort, the- objective set for the present study is to identify the phytochemical constituents of the leaves of Rhinacanthus nasutus in order to understand the nature of the principle component responsible for its medicinal property. A preliminary absorbance survey scan of the methanolic extract of R. nasutus evidenced the presence of multiple components in the extract. Two peaks observed in the HPLC spectrum showed the presence of two compounds in the extract. GCMS profile revealed that the active components present in the leaf extract might be alkaloids or polyphenols. The results of IR spectrum revealed that band 1 possess compounds of polyphenolic nature and band 2 possesses compounds that are having a hydroxyl and a carbonyl groups. Some more studies need to be conducted to confirm the presence of bioactive component responsible for its therapeutic value.Item Antioxidant Responses Evoked by Rhinacanthus Nasutus Leaf Extracts in Oxidatively Stressed In Vitro Systems(2008-04-06) Nirmaladevi, R; Padma, P RItem Antioxidants and free radical scavenging activity of Tabebuia rosea(2018-04) Evangelin Esther, J S; Nirmaladevi, RItem Assessment of Antioxidant Status And Free Radical Scavenging Ability of Crescentia Cujete(2018-04) Valarmathi, V; Nirmaladevi, RItem Assessment of Free Radical Scavenging Activity and Antioxidant Potential of the TLC separated Fractions of Rhinacanthus nasutus Root Extracts(2012) Nirmaladevi, RThe root powder was shade dried and powdered and subjected first to extraction by series of solvents on increasing polarity (Petroleum ether, Benzene, Chloroform, Ethyl acetate, Methanol and Water). Then the extracts were subjected to TLC and the spots obtained were eluted and used for the further antioxidant study. DPPH, ABTS, Hydroxyl radical, Hydrogen peroxide radical scavenging assays and determination of inhibition of in vitro nitric oxide and superoxide generation were determined to evaluate the free radical scavenging activity of the extract. The total antioxidant potential of the extract was studied by phosphomolybdenum assay and • reduction potential assay. The results of our experiment showed that plant extract has highest radical scavenging activity.Item Drug Release Analysis and Anticancer Potential of Tabebuia pallida Silver Nanoparticles Loaded Liposomes against Molt-3 Cells – in vitro(2022-04) Priyanka, J; Nirmaladevi, RItem Effect of Tridaxprociimbens extract on calcium oxalate crystallization under in vitro conditions(2014) Nirmaladevi, RKidney stones are from dietary minerals in the urine and there is no suitable drug to use in clinical therapy. Traditionally it is known that Tridax prociimbens leaf juice possess antililhiatic property. Calcium oxalate (CaOx) crystal niicleation was significantly inhibited by the presence of Tridax prociimbens extract, when compared to control. The effect o f leaf extract on crystal growth assay performed showed a concentration dependent trend. The result o f crystal aggregation assay reiterates the fact that the plant extract could readily inhibit crystal formation, which clearly indicates the antilithialic activity of the plant Tridax prociimbens.Item Evaluation of Aerva Lanata Flower Extract For Its Antilithiatic Potential in Vitro And In Vivo(2012-04) Uthaya Chandirika, J; Nirmaladevi, RItem Evaluation of Antilithiatic Potential of Banana Cultivars of Different Genome and Ploidy(2015-01) Kalpana, S; Nirmaladevi, RItem Evaluation of Selected Medicinal plants for Its Antilithiatic Potential under In Vitro(2014) Nirmaladevi, RKidney stones are hard mineral and crystalline material formed within the kidney or urinary Had as a result of an imbalance between inhibitors and promoters of the kidney. Traditional medicinal practices have been known for centuries and are being e.xploited today for treatment without the risk of unwanted side effects. Hxtract of Trihidtis lerreslris (leal), Aerva lanala (I'lowcr). Scuparia A//cA( leaf), and Tridax prociimbeiis (leal), with solvents of different polarity was used to study its inhibitory effect against crystal nuclcalion. growth and aggregation. Based on results of the analysis, it can be concluded that there was a concentration dependent action of the extracts against the crystals. The Aerva lanala aqueous extract was found to be most eftcctive in inhibiting all the three critical stages of stone formation.Item Extent of Utilisation of Training on Improved Farm Practices by Rural Women(1989-05) Nirmaladevi, R; Narayanaswamy, N SItem In Vitro and in Vivo Evaluation of Antilithiatic Potential of Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis Linn(2011-05) Deepika, R; Nirmaladevi, RItem In Vitro and in Vivo Investigation of Antilithiatic and Antioxidant Activity of Aqueous Extract of Aerva Lanata(2015-04) Shrinidhi Rai, T; Nirmaladevi, RItem Inhibitory Effect of Citrus Limetta Phytoconstituents Against Arginine Methyl Transferase Enzyme - A Treatment Strategy For Leukemia(2023-06) Tharani, S; Nirmaladevi, RItem Phytochemical investigation of the peels and pulp of Citrus limetta and Citrus sinensis(2015-03) Angelin Vinotha , R; Nirmaladevi, RItem Protective Effect of TLC Separated Fractions of Rhinacanthus nasutus Root Extracts On The Oxidant Induced Biomolecular Damage in vitro(2010-04) Srividhya , D; Nirmaladevi, RItem Second Order Targeting using Nanocarriers of Phytoformulation(2022-05) Eswaripavithra, C; Nirmaladevi, RItem A Study On Expression Of Genes In Various Types Of Leukemia Using In Silico Tools - A Therapeutic Approach(2019-04) Suganya, M; Nirmaladevi, R
