Corrosion S I Udies of Mildsteel By Areca Nut Husk Extract in Hydrochloric Acid Medium
    (2012) Rajalakshmi, R; Leelavathi, S
The objective of this study was to investigate the inhibiiive action of .^^eca nut husk e.xiiaci towards the corrosion of mild steel in IM HCI solution using mass loss and electrochemical techniques. 1 he results indicate that the inhibitive action of the extract is dependent on the concentration of the extract. The inhibition capacity of this extract may be attributed to the presence of different phytochemical constituents present in the extract. A suitable mechanism has been proposed for the present study. Potentiodynamic polarization and impedance studies reveal that the system follows mixed mode of inhibition. Inhibition efficiency obtained from mass loss and electrochemical stuilies are t|uile compar;ible.
