This study was conducted in various districts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. One hundred and seventy one samples in the age range of 54 to 88 years were selected. The personal profile schedule was used to collect the personal details of the samples. The tools used to collect the data were Oxford’s Happiness Scale and Multidimensional Scale on Perceived Social Support. The results revealed that there is a positive relationship between happiness and perceived social support in the sample.

- ItemSelf- Esteem in Married and Unmarried Female College Students(2015) Anurekha, T K; Preetha MenonMarriage as an institution in Indian context seems to work as a moderator for self-esteem, especially among women. Parents of middle class households feel that their daughters are safer when married. The present study was done against this backdrop to find out the difference in the level of self- esteem among married and unmarried women college students. The sample consisted of 82 college students (41 married and 41 unmarried). The data was collected from the various colleges in Coimbatore. The tool used was Rosenberg's Self- Esteem Questionnaire. The results revealed that there is no significant difference in the level of self: esteem among married and unmarried women college students.

The sample consisted of 62 colle.ne students. The data was collected from the various colleges in Coimbatore. The tools used were Oxford's hlappiness Questionnaire. Rosenberg's Self- Esteem Scale and focus of Control Scale developed by Levenson. The results of this study revealed thateighty six percentage of the sample were having interned locus of control. The variables happiness and self- esteem are positively correlated with each other at 0.05 level and there is a significant iiifiience of self- esteem over hajypiness. There is no relationship between socioeconomic status and self- esteem o f the sample.
