Sripathi2017-11-152017-11-152010https://ir.avinuty.ac.in/handle/avu/3652The aim of the present investigation is to determine the fluorescence characteristics of 2-bcnzo[l,3] dioxoI-5-yl-2,3-dihydro-furo[2,3-h]chromone-4-one. The compound was isolated by column chromatography of the benzene extract of the galls of Pongamia glabra. The structures was characterized by preliminary colour tests and UV and Fluorescence spectra as well as PMR and IR spectra. The emission peaks were locat^ at 426 ran and the compound may be considered to show good emission fluorescence, a property useful in identification and also quantification of organic compounds.
